Digital Campus took on the challenge of organising an original Open Day. Join us on Wednesday 18 October at the Skatepark, from 5 to 7 pm, for the first Digital Campus Campus Meet-up in Biarritz.
An extraordinary partnership
Digital Campus is a partner of the Biarritz Skatepark — a 2,400 m2 facility with a 1,400 m2 skating area suited to all audiences and skill levels. This magnificent structure was built in June 2017. Since then, world and European skateboarding legends, drawn by the venue, have been flocking to try it out. The facility, which holds its own against other skateparks across Europe, is also nurturing the next generation of stars in the discipline.
The association 'Lassosalai', founded in 2002, which manages the Biarritz Skatepark, offers skating lessons for all levels and all ages, as well as training programmes. This dynamic approach gives the sport fresh momentum. From the age of four, children are taking to the ramps in great numbers. The enthusiasm extends to adults, who come to session the modules twice a week. Skateboarding has truly become a sport that brings people together in a city whose DNA is defined by board sports. That resonates with who we are too, driven as we are by the blue economy. This partnership is also an integral part of our commitment to supporting sports that are in the process of structuring themselves, and which, moreover, belong to our DNA — the blue economy, one of the pillars of our Campus.
Skateboarding: a unifying force in the region
Skateboarding features in many music and surf events along the Basque Coast. It is a unifying force for projects across the BAB district (Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne). Moreover, the skatepark is a twin building to its neighbour, the SMAC-labelled concert venue l'Atabal. This proximity has given rise to many joint projects. Our partnership therefore promises to be rich in meaningful encounters and projects, spanning street culture, board sports, and music.
