Digital Campus Bordeaux students are taking part in the Biobx project in partnership with Boxon Records and Espacio Open.

Seven students (1st, 2nd and 3rd year) enrolled in the Bachelor in Web Project Management have been taking part since last weekend in Biobx — a travelling journey between Bordeaux and Bilbao during which our students will work on large-scale digital projects alongside 7 students from Bilbao and various Spanish and French digital professionals. Several working sessions are planned in Bilbao and Bordeaux between February and April 2014.

The first working session between Digital Campus students and the Biobx project professionals took place on Saturday 22 February at Digital Campus Bordeaux. BioBx (Bilbao-Bordeaux) is a creative/educational experience designed to connect the digital scene between Bordeaux and Bilbao. It is also an opportunity for the new digital generation to participate, create, collaborate and innovate using cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing, Open Source Hardware, Textiletronics and Mapping/interactive visuals.

This team of young Digital Campus and Bilbao students, guided by a team of creators, artists and technologists, will develop — over the course of this travelling journey — an interactive exhibition beginning with the online publication of a map of the main creative spaces along the Bordeaux-Bilbao axis. This innovative experience will conclude at the end of April with 4 digital art exhibitions open to the public in Bordeaux, Bilbao and two other cities along the Bio-Bx axis.

This project, in which our seven Digital Campus students are participating, was born from the alliance between Boxon Records — a Bordeaux electronic music label that opens its skills and ideas to digital projects — and Espacio Open, founder of Bilbao Makers, the first digital culture laboratory in Bilbao, which multiplies digital experiences, notably during the last edition of the World Maker Faire in New York's Museum of Science.
