The last weekend of March, Rennes hosted In/Out, the event that explores urban mobility. This year, the public area let visitors try out installations under brilliant sunshine and attend numerous debates broadcast live from the “Dôme” set up for the occasion on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle.
On Saturday morning, Lucie Baudouin, the director of the Digital Campus Rennes web school, took part in a panel discussion broadcast live on TV Rennes on a topical subject: “Can digital technology save the environment?”. Alongside her was Marc-François Marchandise, co-founder of the FING (a Think Tank dedicated to the challenges of tomorrow's internet).
In an organisation where IT systems are constrained and agility is hard to achieve, how can the environmental dimension be better integrated? How can the impacts of digital pollution be limited? How can future generations be made aware of these issues? These are all questions that have become almost existential in our ultra-connected digital ecosystems.
