Digital Campus at the ZAWP in Bilbao. The City of Bordeaux is organising a visit to the ZAWP in Bilbao on 18 October for students from the region. This is a project set up by an activist association that, with the agreement of the Basque municipality, took over an abandoned industrial wasteland. Its members turned it into a "living lab" — a place for experimentation and creativity. Across several refurbished buildings and with very modest resources, the ZAWP has made room for a largely self-funded theatre company, a co-working space, a video games company, a cluster of artist residencies featuring sound design and multimedia creations, and creative enterprises in the field of green cycling tourism, among others. What makes the ZAWP distinctive is the particularly significant role of volunteers and highly motivated young people who have turned it into a place filled with activist energy, blending political commitment with entrepreneurial spirit. Five students from Digital Campus Bordeaux have been invited by the City of Bordeaux to visit this extraordinary place. The aim? To discover and learn from experiences happening elsewhere. We wish Camille Laine, Nicolas André, Benoit Vovan, Pierre Lauret and Thibault Saint-Germain a great visit! We have no doubt they will bring back ideas and inspiration to share with the web school in Bordeaux.
