As part of its ongoing commitment as an Engaged and Responsible Digital school, Digital Campus is launching the "DC Women's Entrepreneurship" Award at the 3rd edition of Be a Boss, the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs.
For 7 years, the Digital Campus teams — deeply committed to digital transformation — have been working to promote the feminisation of web professions, through actions aimed at middle school girls, high school students, university students, and adults in career transition. Many Digital Campus staff members belong to associations or French Tech committees dedicated to women's causes. Throughout the year, they organise events and meetings in our schools (dedicated hackathons with organisations such as SNCF, Facebook, BNP, Sud-Ouest, Les Echos, C-Discount…), partnerships focused on opening the web to young girls and women with companies and organisations like Microsoft, Zupdeco, the Profession'L fair… as well as conferences such as the one held at Digital Campus Montpellier in November 2017 at DigiWorld. Our female students enthusiastically take part in these initiatives by running coding workshops in middle schools, sharing career stories in high schools, facilitating workshops, and contributing to their DC START projects (the school's pre-incubator).

According to a study by Roland Berger for the Digital Women's Day, digital technology is a professional accelerator for 74% of respondents (both women and men). Digital transformation could thus become social transformation: if women increase their rate of digital technology adoption, gender equality could become a reality in mature countries within 25 years (compared to 50 years at the current rate) and in emerging countries within 45 years (compared to 85 years). Women are increasingly entrepreneurial. 30% of entrepreneurs are women, and many mentoring and co-working programmes exist to support female business creators on the path to success.

Digital Campus wishes to strengthen its commitment by getting even more involved in this real revolution. It is for all these reasons that we have created the Digital Campus Women's Entrepreneurship Award, which we will present to the Be a Boss winners in Bordeaux and Lyon. The winners will receive support from Digital Campus, either in the form of training or assistance with a digital project.

In just 3 years, Be a Boss has become the leading event for women's entrepreneurship. Across 6 stops in France, this Forum aims to boost entrepreneurial ambition among women, identify future regional and national talent, and reward and support innovative and promising start-ups. In 2017, the Be a Boss Tour enabled 800 women with project ideas or already running businesses to attend the forum in their region and/or to present their project locally with a view to competing in the "Be a Boss Awards".
