Digital Campus, a partner of the OFQJ (Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse) and Québec Numérique, launched a call for applications at the end of 2015 among Bachelor students at Digital Campus Bordeaux, Rennes and Toulouse, to participate in the creation of a documentary about Quebec's Digital Week and the highly acclaimed WAQ. This event, sponsored by Axelle Lemaire, France's Minister of Digital Affairs and also patron of Digital Campus, will take place from April 4 to 9, 2016 in Quebec City, Canada.
The ties between Quebec's digital ecosystem and Digital Campus are strengthening this year through various initiatives, notably with Université Laval in Quebec City and the involvement of our students on Canadian soil.

Ben, 20 years old, 3rd-year Bachelor student at Digital Campus Rennes. A web and multimedia enthusiast. Creative at heart, hardworking, and a lover of the unknown., In life, I dabble in everything. I'm naturally curious. I'm a huge fan of cinema (the kind that doesn't just go bang bang boom), design in general, new technologies and sociology. Oh, and for the past 2 years, I've discovered a new passion: #project #crunch #allnighter #coffee — and I love it!, My dad is a cinema buff and I was lucky enough to go regularly or spend evenings watching classics on TV #vhs. Then, like everyone else, I went through my rebellious teenage phase and turned my back on good taste — a dark period (though it means I now know a fair few cult film quotes). These days, I value direction and screenplay over special effects. When all three come together, it's brilliant — rare, but it exists. Children of Men., That's what made me want to pick up a camera and do the same. The first attempts were really bad, there's no hiding it. Thanks to Digital Campus, I've had the chance to work in teams on several video projects — corporate, motion design, podcast. I'm now able to bring my ideas to life., How did I feel when I found out I had this opportunity? I think I channelled my inner Texan and let out a big "yeah" in the open-plan office. Then, to celebrate, I poured myself a double espresso — it was a special occasion., My motivations? An adventure, a challenge, an opportunity… and it's the WAQ TABERNACLE! (okay, I'll admit I also love maple syrup a lot)., What will be interesting is the clash of our different approaches, drawing the best from each of them. Having such a diverse team is a chance to create something truly unique. From this experience, I'm hoping to discover new techniques and a transatlantic perspective on multimedia., How am I preparing for this adventure? I'll need to build up my cold-weather resistance, do some physical training, launch a vlog and keep giving my all at Digital Campus., Thank you, Digital Campus! I promise we'll bring back memories and a great project.
, Erwan Levfevre, 21 years old, 2nd-year Bachelor student in Web Project Management at Digital Campus Bordeaux., I'm passionate about cinema, music and rugby., I discovered my love of video through YouTube, having stopped watching TV very early on., Finding out I had been selected to go to Quebec City as part of the video reporter team filled me with excitement and joy., I believe this experience — alongside my 2 Digital Campus classmates and 3 Design students from Université Laval — will allow me to discover the power of complementarity between students and learn from our Quebec cousins., Thank you to Digital Campus for giving me this opportunity., WE ARE DC WORLD
, My name is Simon, 23 years old, junior project manager and passionate web designer, currently in my 2nd year of the Bachelor programme at Digital Campus Toulouse., Captivated by drawing from an early age, I have since continued to develop my passion for creation, art and design in general. I then developed a particular interest in web design, user experience and front-end development., It was later that I became deeply interested in imagery, whether in the form of photography, video or motion design., I now have the chance to be selected from across the entire Digital Campus school network to be part of the production team for the WAQ 2016 web documentary., This opportunity is for me a dream chance to go out and discover new cultures connected to the future I am working towards., This web documentary will also allow me to develop my skills and gain experience on a real, concrete and career-building project., As a web designer and developer who is passionate about imagery, my motivation for this project is wholehearted, as it will allow me to combine all the fields in which I love to learn and continually push my creativity further., Fields in which I never hesitate to move forward, driven by a thirst for discovery and diversity across my projects., Three of us DC network students will be heading to the WAQ, where we will join 3 Design students from Université Laval in Quebec City. It will be incredibly enriching to work with students we have never met before, sharing different cultures yet united by a common interest around the project., Having already strong experience in web design and front-end development, my goal between now and April is to develop my motion design skills, while actively continuing to strengthen my technique and web culture., This project will also require a great deal of organisation, which I will need to be able to manage — which is why I have also decided to develop my project management skills on a real project within the Digital Campus network (Project Manager for the year — team of 12 people)., Digital Campus allows me today to develop concrete skills by immersing me directly in the professional environment I aim to reach., Today, proud to be part of the production of the WAQ 2016 web documentary, I can't wait to live this new experience, which will undoubtedly be one of the most enriching of my life.
