Master's Year 2 students had the opportunity to take part in a hackapress (hackathon for press) in partnership with the Les Echos media group. The objective was to make meaningful use of data provided by the newspaper to design an original editorial line. A team made up of DC students was selected to compete in the Paris final — much to our delight.
How the hackapress unfolded
On 22 March 2016, the 18 second-year students of the Expert Master's in Digital Strategy spent 8 consecutive hours taking part in a hackathon for Les Echos. The aim of this intensive day of reflection was to develop a new editorial line and create innovative concepts to help readers access information more quickly and in a more engaging way. To achieve this, Les Echos invited participants to work with their data resources.
The final project presentations: 4 groups of 4 to 5 people were formed to tackle the brief. At the end of the day, each team presented their final project, which was filmed to allow a careful selection of the winners. The jury responsible for evaluating the presentations was composed exclusively of professionals from Les Echos, Digital Village, and Raise. Congratulations to our finalists Loïc, Christophe, Julien, and Alexandre! Of the 3 Digital Campus Toulouse teams that entered the competition, one group was selected to compete in the final, which will take place at the prestigious Sciences Po Paris campus. We wish our students Loïc, Christophe, Julien, and Alexandre the very best of luck as they proudly fly the Digital Campus flag!
