On 27 and 28 January 2020, students from the Bachelor in Digital Project Management and the Intensive Cycle Bachelor programmes gathered for the launch of their Hackathon.

Project sponsors representing the famous MHSC (Montpellier's football club) and the students were welcomed first thing in the morning over coffee and muffins (many thanks to our partner Colombus Café) for the launch of the 2020 Hackathon.

The project and the company brand were revealed via a video teaser presenting the following challenge:

"How can we boost online ticket sales in the student area and improve the fan experience for students during home matches?"

The project sponsors outlined the constraints and their expectations. Students from all year groups were then divided into teams to complete their mission.

The students, coached by Sébastien Cambon (a guest lecturer at Digital Campus Montpellier for marketing and project management courses), were able to put their questions to the Montpellier club throughout the morning.

On the day of the final presentation, the students had just 10 minutes to convince the jury!

After the jury's deliberations:

Favourite project: implementing initiatives to position the club with the perks of a private box and the atmosphere of a trendy bar, all at a student price. This revolves around a comprehensive UX redesign of the website and mobile app, as well as a physical reconfiguration of the student zone to introduce new experiences.

Winning project: a new way to enjoy a match — creating memories, offering seasonal snacking options, introducing innovative activities, and implementing a tailored communication strategy.

To thank all students for their work, the club gave a gift box to each participant, along with access to the match in the student zone against Metz on Wednesday 5 February.

To mark the occasion, the jerseys won by the winning team now adorn the walls of the campus entrance.
