The "Induction Hackathon" was an initiative that successfully brought together 365 students from first-year undergraduate level to Master's 1 from the engineering school and ISM Digital Campus. Students were organised into mixed working groups and, over 72 hours from 21 to 23 December 2017, pooled their skills and knowledge to find practical solutions to the various challenges set by twelve local entrepreneurs who had already launched their businesses.

At the end of the Hackathon, the work was presented in a plenary session before a jury of experts and the entrepreneurs, who were able to assess the quality of the deliverables produced.

The Induction Hackathon aimed to:

  • Help new students integrate smoothly into the academic activities organised by the engineering school and ISM Digital Campus;
  • Stimulate creativity and innovation among students;
  • Introduce students to teamwork and working under pressure;
  • Raise the profile of the Engineering School and ISM Digital Campus;
  • Create a new dynamic of student support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs);
  • Give students the opportunity to demonstrate their potential across various fields to companies in a practical setting.
