A graduate of the Expert in Digital Strategy Master's programme, Maëlenn Rochois shares her experience at France Parkinson.
For Maëlenn, the search for the ideal job happens through curiosity and discovery. As network communications officer at France Parkinson, she shares how she found the right balance between meaningful commitment and professional fulfilment.
Your programme at Digital Campus?
I completed a Master's in Lyon that was called the Expert in Digital Strategy Master's at the time. The atmosphere was really great and the instructors came in with practical case studies that allowed us to test all our knowledge and skills. I really enjoyed the data aspect — it allowed me to learn different things and build a broad culture across development-related professions.
Thanks to the work-study placement and the support from the teams, I was well prepared for the professional world. I am convinced that hands-on experience is the best way to learn.
What does your job involve?
I am a network communications officer. That means I manage all external communication for the association — print and digital documents, social media — I manage the website as well as all communication with our volunteer networks across France.
I think about social media posts and schedule them. To do this, I check in with the association's various departments to find out if they have any actions or news to communicate.
By managing the website, I stay across all ongoing projects — I am therefore in contact with the agency that manages our site to validate new developments and bug fixes. Colleagues from different departments come to me when they have a project (video, document, article, etc.), and I support them as project manager through to the final product. I am also in contact with volunteers who frequently ask me for documents and guidance on using the website.
I found a job that has meaning, and where the projects are varied. I do digital, video, print, events… With a great team!
What advice would you give to Digital Campus students and prospective students?
Be curious, try things, and discover yourself. Knowing how you work is essential to finding your dream job.
I think the most important thing is to find your reason for working — for me, it's having a sense of purpose in my work, and that's what I love about it.
