Choosing to join Digital Campus Rennes means ensuring a swift transition into the professional world. Aude Vidal, a former student of the Expert Master's in Digital Strategy, tells us about her first day at work at Mediaveille.
Monday, August 29, 2016, 8:53 am, Parc de Borcéliande. Having climbed the flight of stairs, I step into the modern offices of Mediaveille, a Rennes-based digital strategy agency. Today, I join the natural referencing (SEO) department for a permanent position — I am now a "SEO Project Manager".
9 am. Agency introduction. Over 80 names and job titles to remember — you'd need a special page in the phone book to take it all in! Integration is very much at the heart of my concerns on this first day. With the team constantly growing to keep pace with the company's momentum, the "new kids" don't stay that way for long!
10 am. Getting to grips with the tools specific to each department, shared servers, processes… As we learned at Digital Campus, the Rennes web school, project management is central to everyone's ability to work effectively.
11 am. Meeting with Olivier Méril, Chief Executive Officer of Mediaveille. Handover of various documents and a discussion about the values that drive the company. Here, listening to team members is a priority… digital doesn't replace the human touch!
12:30 pm. Lunch with the Head of Expertise, the department manager, and my new work partner, who is also joining the company today.
2 pm. Training on one of the SEO department's key tasks, followed by immediate hands-on practice with my very first dedicated client! It's efficient here and I love it! The approach to SEO taught at Digital Campus Rennes means I already have a solid grasp of the essentials. I'll deepen my knowledge through my colleagues and the experience gained from future assignments!
6:30 pm. Leaving the office with a smile and already looking forward to tomorrow :)
Barely two months ago, I was still a student in the web master's programme at Digital Campus Rennes. Today, I'm starting my professional career at a digital agency rooted in the Rennes business community. Thank you Digital Campus and thank you Mediaveille!
