Read the testimony of a Digital Campus Toulouse student.
Who are you? My name is Louis Duval, I'm from Albi, I'm 25 years old and I'm passionate about the web.

What is your background?

I obtained a baccalauréat ES in 2011, then pursued an information and communication degree at Paul Valéry University. I then switched to a psychology degree, but as the programme didn't meet my expectations, I worked for a year as a sales assistant at Teddy Smith. Eventually, I discovered Digital Campus Toulouse and chose to pursue my passion — the web — professionally.

Why did you choose the Web Project Manager Bachelor's degree?

The Bachelor Web in Toulouse was the only programme that allowed me to cover everything: web, marketing/communications and multimedia creation, with a much more 'hands-on' approach than theoretical, unlike the university system which didn't suit me at all.

How is your work-study placement going? It's going very well — no particular difficulties, and I've learned interesting things mainly on the 'systems' side: how the company works and how everything fits together, rather than the technical skills side. What projects have you developed alongside your studies? I've developed several projects: the first was creating the visual identity and building a website for a photography association I co-founded. The second project is similar to a web agency model: website creation and social media/social ads management for small and micro businesses. Finally, the last project is a Facebook page I co-founded with a school friend about a year ago — 'Double contact' — on which I share football video compilations, blog articles… We now have more than 115K fans! www.facebook.com/doublecontactfr
What are your plans for the future? I'm launching my e-commerce business in a few months, with the aim of selling various products across different marketplaces, taking into account the specific requirements of each one. Alongside that, I'll still be offering my services in terms of website creation, visual identity, social media management and consultancy… And who knows, maybe even social media training!
A final word? It's not solely thanks to Digital Campus that I've been able to achieve all of these things. You need to build your network and develop certain skills that I work on daily in a personal context to complement and get ahead of the coursework.
