Portrait of Romain Elineau, a student in web professional training at Digital Campus Rennes.

What is your background?

After completing a Science Baccalaureate, I moved into a BTS in graphic arts with a print focus. I consolidated this qualification with a sandwich-course professional degree in digital workflow. This diploma helped me find work by joining a pre-press team as a DTP operator. However, with a genuine interest in digital and having taken programming classes during my degree, I decided to pursue the Web & Multimedia Project Manager training. This programme perfectly meets my career-change expectations.

What are your expectations?

I would like to acquire all the skills needed to be job-ready when I enter the labour market. Since my profile leans more towards graphic design, my expectations are focused primarily on the development and marketing aspects.

How are you financing your training?

Before starting my training, I had been working for three years. I therefore had the option of applying for CIF (Individual Training Leave) funding from my employer and from Fongecif. This application involves 3 steps:

  • acceptance of the training leave by the employer
  • acceptance by the school to join the training programme
  • training project application form to be completed and submitted to Fongecif

The greatest challenge lies in putting together the application. You need to include a letter explaining your motivations and outlining your professional project. It is also advisable to accompany the application with additional materials (articles, surveys, testimonials, press reviews, etc.). This demonstrates that you are motivated and genuinely interested in the training.

Do you have plans for the future?

Ideally, I would like to join an agency team as a web developer or web designer, with the ambition of progressing towards a Web Project Manager role. Since the training is multi-disciplinary (web design / web development / web marketing) and requires versatility, I believe I can aspire to such a position.

What are your impressions of the training?

I am very satisfied with the courses I have taken so far. We work on a project basis, which allows us to work in conditions close to real-world practice. The training is intensive and we have little time to learn everything, which sometimes requires additional personal study. But overall we are well supported by the teaching team, everyone progresses at their own pace and there is a great deal of mutual support within the cohort.

The instructors are also very interesting because they are all recognised professionals who bring us a great deal of experience.

I have learned a great deal during these first months and have absolutely no regrets about my choice of direction.
