A look back at the Digital Campus Toulouse Hackathon in partnership with Engie!

Digital Campus Toulouse and Engie were proud to present their Hackathon, held on the Bissy campus on 5 October 2017. 212 students gathered in groups to work on a project. The challenge was to submit an innovation to Engie related to electricity consumption, user experience, or other areas. Engie's goal was also to build stronger customer loyalty.

In collaboration with ESG, our Bachelor and Master's students proposed marketing tools to address the various objectives. Among the submissions, one group presented a robot designed to regulate and manage electricity consumption throughout the home — a way to improve the user experience at Engie.

The Hackathon represents a significant opportunity, and here's the proof: the winning team will go on to pitch their idea at the Compans Cafarelli site in front of Engie executives from Paris. It's a chance to become more professional, build connections, and get used to working as a community — a real taste of the working world.

Testimonials
"The challenge for us is to find innovative ideas from people who don't know the energy market. We hope to get a glimpse of tomorrow's Engie. Sure, some projects are a bit too futuristic, but we appreciate the richness and the freshness of the ideas. It's also interesting to work with people outside our company — they'll express themselves freely, without barriers or constraints." — Engie
"It's a real brain workout. What matters is teamplay and that team spirit. You quickly figure out who has what skills, you divide up the tasks, and you try to make the most of your abilities as fast as possible. And it's still a great project, working with a major company." — Raphaël Jadeau – DC4
